University Hopsitals Plymouth NHS Trust is the largest trust in the South West Peninsula; it is a large teaching trust with an integrated Ministry of Defence Hospital Unit. The trust provides services to approximately 450,000 people in the Plymouth, North and East Cornwall and South and West Devon. Derriford Hospital as part of this Trust has over 900 beds and a footfall of approximately 48,000 patients per week.

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated person to join the Pharmacy Commercial Services and High Cost Drugs Team to support financial and contractual management within the Trust. The post-holder will need to have experience in the Pharmacy setting.

Full training will be given to develop the successful candidate to offer service support and ongoing development. Skills in the navigation and reporting via Microsoft Office tools are essential.

The successful candidate will support in the day to day running of all aspects of the commercial partnership with LloydsPharmacy providing out-patient dispensing for UHPNT.

To support, audit and identify high cost medicines currently being prescribed within UHPNT.

To support the central hub for the Cancer Drug Fund and BlueTeq applications and follow up approval/ongoing funding.

To assist in the support and supply of Compassionate Use Schemes.

To manage the necessary supply and data input for the National Immunoglobulin Database and training.

To support in the supply of ‘Mab’ (High Cost Drugs) medication including stock holding and expiry management.

As the Commercial Services and High Cost Drugs Team are part of the Pharmacy Supply Team, the post-holder will be required to fully participate in late night, weekend, 7-day a week and Bank Holiday working patterns.
