Palliative Care Specialist Nurse

 

We require a dynamic, motivated and dedicated nurses to work within the Hospital Palliative Care Team at NMUH

 

First post is for a Clinical Nurse Specialist Palliative Care Band 7

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join an evolving and expanding team who are dedicated to improving specialist palliative and end of life care for all at NMUH. The team currently consists of 3 consultants, 1 band 8 Lead Nurse 2 band 7 CNS and a band 6 clinical nurse specialist. One new post Band 7 will enable the provision of a specialist palliative care 7 days a week 8am -4pm by the team. You will be responsible for a defined patient caseload which involves assessment of palliative care needs, with development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.

 

As well as providing specialist palliative care directly to patients and carers we are responsible, in partnership with others, for designing and delivering key quality improvements in end of life care for all patients across the Trust. There may be scope to deliver nurse led clinics and undertake The Independent Prescribing qualification.
