Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust(AWP) provides inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire. We also provide specialist services extending throughout the south west.

This is a unique opportunity in Swindon, for a suitably qualified nurse with learning disability experience, working as part of our NHS Trust as we develop and provide specialist provision in the community for adults with Learning Disability and/or Autism.

We know how important it will be to you to be supported and encouraged in your clinical and leadership development and so you will work with an excellent Team Manager and highly knowledgeable leaders and clinicians to implement the vision for a tailored assessments and interventions.

You will have monthly clinical and monthly management supervision, as well as excellent training and annual appraisal.

You will be an enthusiastic individual with excellent motivational and communicative skills, to work with our client group. The job will involve providing specialist nursing intervention for people with learning disabilities and autism with complex health needs; including complex physical and mental health conditions and challenging behaviors.

You will need to use your core skills to work with those with complex health needs by improving function and supporting carers and other support staff in promoting social inclusion liaising closely with generic services.

The post based at Chatsworth House. There will be flexibility built in to the role for you with plenty of training and professional support opportunities with other nurses across the Trust and those within the wider Swindon locality. This is a great opportunity for you to share your passion, knowledge and professional skillset.

You will have excellent communication skills, be highly motivated and innovative with a strong desire to progress and shape our excellent services for young adults with a learning disability.
