We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our experienced, friendly and highly professional team, located within the Therapy Department based at Wotton Lawn Hospital, Gloucester.

The In-Patient Therapy team consists of registered Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Health & Exercise Practitioners, together with their associated support staff and administrators. We provide a service 7 days a week to include evenings in order to support the physical health, occupational and psychological needs of those who require inpatient admission to support their recovery from severe and complex mental health needs. 7.5 hrs shifts operate between 8:30am – 8pm.

The Trainee Assistant Practitioner will work as a member of the integrated therapy team, to assist with undertaking assessment and delivering intervention as delegated by therapists.

This is a 2 year apprenticeship training position – on successful completion of the apprenticeship you will have achieved a Level 5 Diploma for Assistant Practitioners in Healthcare.

This post requires the post holder to be able to undertake all Mandatory Training, including Control and restraint and Breakaway (subject to Occupational Health Clearance)

This post requires the post holder to be able to undertake all statutory and mandatory trainingand post holders must be able to undertake physical interventions. Fitness for physical intervention will be assessed by Occupational Health.

Applicants should note that all appointments to 2gether NHS Foundation Trust (excluding Medical Staffing appointments) are subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probation period.

Please be aware that all employees of the Trust who need to have a DBS check in order to carry out their role, will be required to repay the cost, which is currently £50 for an enhanced check or £32 for a standard check.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered. Any request will be set against genuine operational requirements and limitations and it is not obligatory for a manager to accede to the request.

As part of the Trust requirement to practice safely all internal applicants, including bank staff, are required to be up to date with statutory and mandatory training, or have booked dates for expired training.

For positions Band 8a and above there is a requirement to participate in an on-call rota to ensure a high quality of care for patients at all times and continued support to all staff with access to the right knowledge and expertise.
