Oldham Care Organisaton, Oldham
£28,050 - £36,644

Our new Northern Care Alliance NHS Group (NCA) unites five local hospitals to deliver high quality care across the North East of Greater Manchester.

The Alliance provides the benefits of scale but delivers this locally through multiple hospital sites which make up four new Care Organisations – Bury/Rochdale, North Manchester, Oldham and Salford. Using our mantra of ‘Saving lives, Improving lives’, the aim is for our Care Organisations to work closely with the communities they serve to deliver safe, high quality and reliable care, which are trusted, connected and pioneering.

Our Care Organisations are designed to operate within our group arrangement of hospitals, community and healthcare services which bring together over 17,000 staff and the services of The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust. Our size and geographical reach means we are creating an environment each individual will be inspired and empowered by to be the best they can be. This is a really exciting time to join our new team.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our busy and progressive Medical Illustration department, to fulfil the role of deputy/senior medical photographer.

You will be joining a team of 5 staff who are committed to providing a specialized Clinical and Ophthalmic diagnostic photography service to the various hospitals that form part of the Northern Care Alliance.

The clinical photography service provides services to all clinical specialties, across all four sites incorporating: The Royal Oldham Hospital, North Manchester General, Fairfield General Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary. Additionally Ophthalmic services are delivered at Oldham ICC & Rochdale Infirmary sites.

Medical Illustration also provides a clinical photography service for tissue viability patients in the community; although this service is due to be reviewed in early April 2019.

The successful candidate is expected to hold a BSC in Clinical Photography or relevantexpertise and experience, have experience at supervisory/team leader level; also be expected to have specialized knowledge in all relevant aspects of clinical and ophthalmic photography and preferably video editing skills.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the clinical photography team, which consists of three Band 5 photographers and report to the Medical Illustration Manager. Your role will also be to deputize for the Medical Illustration Manager when required.

The candidate must have excellent communication and people skills ability and be able to empower team members, supporting the Medical Illustration Manager in delivering an efficient professional clinical photography imaging service trust wide.
