Clinical Psychologist – Band 8a– Full-Time


We are advertising a full time band 8a Clinical Psychology post to join our large team of Psychologists working in a strong multi-disciplinary setting delivering a service for young people and their families / carers in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.


We are a large multi-disciplinary service, serving a general population of nearly 1 million. Our CAMH Service is comprehensive and in addition to our outpatient teams has specialist teams for inpatient adolescent services, Crisis and Home Treatment, Learning disabilities, Primary Mental Health Services, Looked After and Adopted children, Young Offenders and Homeless children and Paediatric Psychology.


The post holder will be an experienced Clinical Psychologist with knowledge, skills and experience in the assessment of Children, Adolescents and Families. The post holder will also be working with Clinical Psychologists at different grades, Assistant Psychologists, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team. In addition to senior level clinical duties, the post-holder will be expected to provide supervision to Band 7 Clinical Psychologists and/or Assistant Psychologists in the team, and also to provide consultation to MDT colleagues as and when needed, and contribute to the teaching programme on the local Clinical Psychology Doctoral course.


The post holder will be joining a large supportive service with good levels of supervision and a personal development programme to help achieve further relevant training targets.


We strongly encourage research and post qualification training and have good links with the department of psychology of Leicester University and the Greenwood Institute of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry that is situated at our main site. We are well resourced for equipment and clinical resources.
