We are seeking to recruit an Emergency Nurse/Care Practitioner to join the established and enthusiastic MIU team at Evesham Community Hospital.

 

The nurse led department sees around 11,000 patients per year, presenting with a wide variety of injuries and is open from 09:00 to 21:00 daily including Bank Holidays and weekends. X-Ray facilities are available on site Monday to Friday.

 

The working pattern is usually long days - Monday to Sunday, various shifts to cover the opening hours of 09:00 to 21:00 including Bank Holidays.

The role requires you to be flexible with the ability to function autonomously and within your sphere of competency and in line with the guidelines and policies of the Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust.

You will be required to assess patients, plan their care, administer treatment and discharge or refer as appropriate to other healthcare professionals /external agencies. Other abilities include x-ray interpretation and the ability to prioritise patient care.

The Trust will actively support your education and development and in return we ask that you take responsibility to ensure statutory and mandatory training requirements are met, to act responsibly as an employee to maintain a safe and healthy environment for service users, visitors and staff, report any incidents as per local guidelines, advocate for patients and work in collaboration with other Minor Injury Units within the Trust.

The Trust offers a preceptorship year for newly qualified nurses and AHP's and attendance at preceptorship programmes is a condition of employment.
