2gether NHS Foundation Trust currently employs approximately 2600 staff working across 90 sites within the counties of Gloucestershire & Herefordshire.

There is inpatient Units across the Trust including Stonebow and Oak House in Hereford, Wotton Lawn Hospital, Working Age Adults in Gloucester, Charlton Lane Hospital, Older Adults, Honeybourne and Laurel House, Recovery Units in Cheltenham, Berkeley House Learning Disability Unit in Stroud.

We are seeking a hardworking, enthusiastic and committed person, who has a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate would be expected to support the main point of contact (Bed Management Lead) with the management of bed allocation and discharge across 2gether Foundation Trust Inpatient Services in line with Trust procedures and national guidance.

The successful candidate will support the Bed Management Lead in developing and implementing;

 

  • A Best Practice protocol for the placement of patients, particularly during periods of escalating demand.
  • Develop and implement a protocol to manage Delayed Transfer of Care.
  • To help manage the risk of bed management in relation to patients and staff.
  • To understand and help to ensure that single sex accommodation standards are maintained, clearly defining when a breach of the standards is required.
  • To ensure that the patient experience is to a high standard in line with 2gethers values.
  • To develop the role of a Bed Manager and discharge coordinator working alongside both the Bed Management Team and Social Work Service ensuring that patients are discharged when medically fit with minimal complications to the process.

Good interpersonal skills are essential and the successful candidate will have had previous experience within an inpatient setting or Hospital with an understanding of mental health issues.

The successful candidate must be competent in understanding social care processes and should display the ability to communicate with a variety of professionals in order to aid patient discharges. The post holder must have the ability to multi-task, prioritise and problem solve in a calm, focussed manner. Given the nature of the environments, the post holder may be required to adapt their day accordingly at short notice, which could then impact on scheduled arrangements.

The post holder must be available to work weekends to support the clinical on call manager with the allocation of beds out of ordinary working hours.

This role will be closely aligned with all of the inpatient units and will be managed and supervised by the Countywide Operational Performance Manager. The post holder would need to demonstrate their commitment to their own development, supervision and statutory and mandatory training updates.

This role would best suit a self-motivated, hardworking and driven individual who enjoys a challenge and is able to prioritise their workload effectively.

Please be aware that all employees of the Trust who need to have a DBS check in order to carry out their role, will be required to repay the cost, which is currently £50 for an enhanced check or £32 for a standard check.
