Clinical Fellow in Urology ST3+


The Bristol Urological Institute wishes to appoint a Clinical Fellow in Urology to commence April 2019, for 12 months. Further extension may be possible and is dependent on satisfactory progress.


The vacancy has arisen as the incumbent was successful in obtaining an ST3 post. The post provides excellent experience in General Urology in a tertiary referral centre. Rotation to a different subspecialty might be possible after six months with in our training programme. The successful candidate will participate in the Urology middle grade On-Call rota.


This post is best suited for candidates wishing to further their training prior to joining a Higher Surgical Training Programme, or more senior trainees wishing to subspecialise in this area. There is a well-established training programme in general and specialist urology including uro-oncology, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, functional urology, endourology and stone disease management.


The Bristol Urological Institute is a tertiary referral centre and has gained a global reputation and has become a major National and International Education Centre. The teaching programme has evolved into an increasing number of national meetings, including operative courses, and an impressive database of research publications has been achieved. The BUI has a dedicated Learning and Research Facility.


Previous “hands on” UK experience, or equivalent and MRCS is essential. North Bristol NHS Trust has teaching status and is linked with the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England.
