The Lister Hospital is a 720-bed district general hospital in Stevenage which has excellent transport links with the A1M being next to Stevenage and a centrally located mainline train station. Kings Cross can be reached in 26 minutes so this is an enviable location.

The Hospital offers general and specialist hospital services for people across much of Hertfordshire and South Bedfordshire and provides a full range of medical and surgical specialties.

We have recently invested £150 million in new facilities.
In October 2011 we opened our fantastic new purpose built Consultant Led Unit with 2 dedicated Obstetric theatres, a co-located Midwife Led Unit and an upgraded NICU/SCBU. This new build offers our women increased choices around their birth options, in up to date facilities as well as being an excellent environment for our staff to work in.

The Diamond Jubilee Maternity Unit births in excess of 5500 women a year, approximately 25% of which deliver in our Midwife Led Unit. We are very proud of our unit and the improvements we have made and are looking for a Senior Midwife to join the team of Senior Midwives on the Consultant Led Unit at the Diamond Jubilee Maternity Unit at the Lister Hospital. The unit comprises a 12 bedded consultant led unit, inpatients and outpatients including a dedicated triage service. You will have overall responsibility for the operational management of clinical service delivery at ward level and will provide excellent standards of midwifery care and expertise, both in delivering direct care and in support of other staff ensuring women centered care.

We are very proud of our unit and the improvements we have made and are now looking for the right person to join our team of Senior Midwives on the Consultant led unit to provide midwifery leadership to help us move our service to the next level. If you have the essential skills we would welcome your application.
