Stroke Specialty Doctor (Full time (10PAs), Substantive)

Applications are invited for a substantive, full time Specialty Doctor in Stroke to join an established, highly committed, multi-disciplinary team. Consideration will be given to GPs with special interest in Stroke as a job share. The essential requirement is that the appointee be expert in and committed to the care & management of stroke patients in all phases of their care, be committed to helping building a stroke centre of excellence both in patient care and research.


The successful applicant would join the current stroke team led by 4 stroke consultants, with support of extensive junior doctor team, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and clinical fellows who are leading the Trust’s Comprehensive Stroke Centre including both acute and rehabilitation services. The stroke service provides acute thrombolysis and TIA clinics 365 days per year. We have an excellent neurovascular interventional radiology service. This is a new post to the team.


North Bristol NHS Trust is the largest Trust in the South West and one of the largest in the UK. The post is based in Southmead Hospital. The Trust has teaching status and is linked with the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England.


Full Registration with the GMC is also required and experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices, or equivalent is essential.

Salary: £36,060 - £72,840
