We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to join our friendly, professional and extremely busy service.

 

This is an outstanding opportunity to join our ever fast growing, forward thinking Switchboard Operators/Receptionist team who provide a high quality of service dealing with a huge variety of queries and issues.

 

As switchboard operator/receptionist, you are an expert host at what you do; by acting and looking the part and adapting your style to match your patients/visitors' pace in all you do.Supporting and respecting your patients and their situation; by recognizing them and making them feel valued and important.

 

You will be the first point of contact from people approaching the Trust by telephone/reception or in an emergency incident within the Trust and will be expected to provide comprehensive, responsive, effective, calm and courteous service.

 

Working in autonomy and supported by the Switchboard Services Supervisor and Team Leader, the Switchboard Operator will provide an excellent level of service within a Staff rota across a varied shift pattern which includes all days of the week, unsocial hours and public holidays including Christmas.

 

Shifts are as follow:

 

The department works to a rolling rota pattern which includes the following shift times: 06:30-14:30 . 08:00-16:00 , 08:30-16:30 , 09:00-17:00 , 10:00-18:00 , 12:00-20:00 , 14:30-22:30 and some night shifts 22:30-06:30.

 

The ideal candidate should be customer focused and able to build customer confidence whilst ensuring an efficient call handling service is maintained a balance between performance and excellent service delivery.

 

To be considered you should ideally have previous experience operating an ISDX telephone system switchboard console preferably within the NHS or a critical service environment. A working knowledge of the ISDX telephone system with AC-Win type consoles is desirable.

 

You will need to exhibit excellent literacy and numeric skills, be confident and able to work under pressure whilst remaining polite and courteous at all times, as these are essential requirements for the role. Punctuality and adherence to the department code of conduct are essential. Knowledge of Information technology ( Microsoft Packages ) keyboard skills, software, internet and email would be an advantage.

 

This role is very varied and provides a chance to deliver a service that makes a real difference to the Trust. We are committed to developing our team and managing our talent. Full training will be given and uniform is provided.
