At Sherwood Forest Hospitals during the last year we cared for approximately 4100 women with 3400 giving birth within our services. Our homebirth rate last year was approximately 3%. We are very proud of our outcomes which are amongst the highest nationally.

 

Our acute services have been enhanced by our fabulous environment, with the availability of waterbirths and aromatherapy. These compliment the traditional services available from Midwives, Obstetricians, Paediatricians, Anaesthetists and Neonatal services.

 

Our four Community Midwifery teams cover the market towns of Mansfield, Sutton in Ashfield, Newark & the more rural area of Sherwood. In these community posts, whilst you will be responsible for managing a caseload, you may be required to support within all community teams and work in all areas of midwifery practice. The role includes a mixture of working hour patterns and nights on call to support the needs of the women in our care.

 

The community teams are also supported by our Lime Green Feeding Team who give women additional support with infant feeding to enhance the experience and continuity for the women.

 

We offer a comprehensive induction programme, complemented by our generous annual in service training programme.

 

We are proud to announce that following a recent CQC visit, the Trust has been rated as ‘Good’ overall and ‘Outstanding’ for Care. We are also working very hard to develop new ways of working to meet the recommendations from ‘Better Births’ and see the future as both challenging and exciting.

 

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated midwife to join our community team with substantial post registration experience. You will need to be a team player, have excellent organisational and communication skills and be able to demonstrate your continued professional development.
