As one of the two acute NHS providers in the east of the county, our services will be closely linked to those provided at Poole Hospital. We’re working in close collaboration to deliver excellent emergency and planned care over the two sites, for the people of east Dorset.

Research Nurse - Oncology - Fixed Term

An exciting post for an Oncology Research Nurse has arisen. The Oncology Research Department is very active at Royal Bournemouth Hospital, covering breast, colorectal, urology, upper GI and lung. This post is advertised as a Band 6 however if the successful applicant does not fulfil the person specification, we may offer it as a Band 5 with progression to a Band 6 when certain competencies are met – (we would expect this to occur within 6 -18 months). The post holder will work closely with the Senior Cancer Research Nurse, Cancer Nurses Specialists, Cancer Nurse Practitioners and Consultants to manage clinical research trials in cancer. The successful candidate would ideally have experience in Oncology and up to date knowledge of cancer treatments. Previous clinical research experience would also be an advantage. The candidate must have good communication skills, able to work independently and as part of a team, be organised, flexible and have attention to detail.
