Patient Pathway Coordinator – 28 day Faster Diagnosis

Band 4 – 37.5 hours per week(fixed term or secondment 1 year).

An exciting opportunity has arisen through funding from the Surrey and Sussex Cancer Alliance, for an individual who is seeking to make a difference to cancer patients and their families. The Patient Pathway Coordinator will be involved in supporting the early diagnosis of patients on a suspected cancer pathway.

This is a new and developing role and will be pivotal to the delivery of the newly introduced national 28 day faster diagnosis standard. The Cancer Team at Ashford and St Peter’s are friendly, dynamic and supportive. The successful candidate will work closely with the cancer services team, cancer nurses, diagnostic teams as well as specialty clinical offices and MDT’s coordinating and tracking patients on a suspected cancer pathway.

You will need to have strong administrative and organisational skills to manage patient’s pathways through use of hospital systems as well as excellent communication skills in order to expedite pathways and escalate any issues.

A commitment to further improving services for cancer patients and their families is essential. A desire and willingness to undertake further study is required; we are fully committed to your personal development and training needs, providing you with the opportunity to learn extended skills within a supportive team environment.
