Fixed Term Appointment (SpR Level) in Haematology

ASAP – 06/08/2019

Based at Royal Gwent Hospital

The Royal Gwent Haematology is a busy unit providing in-patient, outpatient and laboratory haematology services. The department is staffed by 4 consultants supported by junior medical staff and specialist nursing staff. Clinical duties will involve care of haematology inpatients, participation in day case chemotherapy clinics, and outpatient clinics, with the opportunity to gain experience in laboratory haematology. An interest in haematology is desirable. MRCP or equivalent is essential. There is a non-resident on call commitment in this post.

This position involves Regulated Activity with children and adults as defined by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012) and the following checks will be undertaken following any conditional offer:

    • Enhanced check with barred list information, including - a children’s barred list chec
    • Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold full registration and a licence to practice with the GMC
    • - an adults and children’s barred list chec
    • - an adults barred list check
