About the Role:

 

West London NHS Trust Liaison Psychiatry Services are innovative services providing prompt specialist assessment and management of people in the acute hospital who are experiencing co-existing physical and mental health difficulties. Our move to a core 24 service will ensure patients have access to expert Liaison Psychiatry assessment 24/7.

 

Come and join our multi-disciplinary teams who work together to help people regain their dignity and live the best life possible. We have opportunities for a number of mental health professionals to join our expanding Liaison Psychiatry Services at West London NHS Trust. These positions are for registered nurses and are available across our 3 Acute Hospitals: Charing Cross Hospital, Ealing Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital.

 

The team has a mix of Consultant Liaison Psychiatrists, Band 6 & 7 Liaison Psychiatry Nurse Specialists, as well as full time team Administrators. The team has office space within the acute hospital we serve. Excellent working relationships have already been developed with both acute Trust clinicians and managers.

About you:

 

We are looking for applications from highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced mental health professionals who are committed in promoting patient focused care and treatment. Interested candidates should have relevant experience working in psychiatry.

 

As a member of the team you will be expected to provide full assessment of patients’ mental health needs and a broad range of psychosocial treatments / interventions for patients who are referred from a variety of sources within the hospitals, including ED. Patients seen may present with emotional problems, self-harm or in psychiatric crisis. You will also be expected to work with patients presenting with psychosomatic disorders, as well as a variety of psychological issues related to physical disorders. You will be required to make clear autonomous decisions, based on an analysis of complex presenting problems and judgment about available options, with clinical support and supervision from more senior colleagues in the team.
