Employer:
East and North Herts CCG
Department:
Engagement and Communications
Location:
Charter House, Welwyn Garden City
Salary:
£42,414 - £49,969 per ann

Due to an internal secondment, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Public Engagement Manager to join a friendly and effective team at East and North Hertfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

East and North Hertfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group is a leading NHS organisation with an award winning governing body. Working closely with partner organisations, the CCG's 300 staff design, plan and commission health services for more than half a million people and monitor the quality and effectiveness of those services.

Our forward thinking, financially robust and clinically-led organisation is based in the busy town centre of Welwyn Garden City, a 1920's 'garden city' in the heart of Hertfordshire. Welwyn Garden City is 25 minutes from central London by train and easily accessed from the A1 and other major road networks. East and North Hertfordshire CCG is committed to putting the patient voice at the centre of our work and decision-making. If you take on this role, you will work closely with the public, GPs, partner organisations including the Hertfordshire and west Essex Sustainability and Transformation Partnership, the voluntary sector and patient groups to discern and implement changes that will improve the health and wellbeing of half a million people in our area.

Working closely with the Assistant Director for Communications in a busy, open-plan office, the Public Engagement Manager is a key member of a small team that works together across engagement and communications projects. The successful appointee will deliver a comprehensive range of engagement activities, implementing a public engagement and involvement strategy and action plan that was approved by the CCG’s governing body in 2018. Some planned evening and weekend working will be necessary from time to time and the successful applicant will be able to work flexibly in order to accommodate these hours within a standard working week.

You can view the plan by searching for ‘engagement strategy’ from our web page

The strategy and action plan has been developed after listening to and discussing the thoughts and ideas of current public members of existing CCG patient groups and other stakeholders. It looks to:

> foster a culture of engagement and involvement within the organisation

> promote opportunities to voice thoughts/concerns/compliments from all of our communities

> ensure that health inequalities are identified, considered and responded to within our decision making.

If these principles are important to you and you are committed to working with partners from across health and social care to make a positive difference to the way health services are planned and delivered, please feel free to get in touch.
