Medical Devices Assistantfor Theatres:- Band 3

Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

Royal Papworth is moving to a New State-of-the-Art Hospital in May 2019 located on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. In preparation we are looking to expand our team. Are you a motivated and enthusiastic individual looking for a new direction and challenge?

We are currently looking to employ a Medical Devices Assistant to help and maintain the various types of equipment used in our very busy theatre and operating department. The successful applicant will also provide an invaluable service supporting qualified professionals by providing high standards of equipment upkeep, ensuring it is not only kept safely but is stored neatly in preparation for use. On occasion the transfer of patients to and from theatres will be required.

Duties include

    • Checking and maintaining medical gas cylinders
    • Escorting patients to and from Theatres
    • Cleaning of equipment in accordance with infection control guidelines
    • Monitoring for annual servicing of theatre equipment
    • Movement of the theatre equipment to Technical Service & Support
    • Reporting any equipment faults to TSS
    • Maintain records for specialist equipment
