Manchester Health and Care Commissioning is a single commissioner for health and social care, comprising a partnership between Manchester Clinical Commissioning Group and Manchester City Council.

The Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership Team require an Evaluation Co-ordination Lead for one of its key priorities: the evaluation of Taking Charge – GM’s five year strategy for the transformation of health and social care in the city region. This will be a highly significant evaluation of an integrated health and social care model in a devolved city region.

The Evaluation Co-ordination Lead will work across the whole of the GM health and social care economy to drive progress in the delivery of the evaluation.

The Co-ordination Lead’s role will be to:

• Build relationships with all 10 GM localities and a wide range of GM programmes to establish evaluation arrangements across a city region of 2.8 million population;

• Work with the Deputy Director (Strategy & System Development) and the Independent Adviser to the evaluation to co-ordinate a complex set of evaluations at GM and local level – ensuring alignment via effective governance arrangements;

• Act as the focal point for the co-ordination of the evaluation programme and support with promoting a consistent approach to evaluation across GM;

• Ensure effective communication on the evaluation programme to stakeholders within GM and beyond – including national health and social care bodies;

• Liaise closely with the Partnership Team’s PMO and Business Intelligence Functions to ensure alignment across workstreams and avoid duplication;

• Coordinate and drive the delivery of the work stream ensuring that key risks and dependencies are clearly understood;

• Provide the content knowledge and programme management capabilities to drive completion of the necessary tasks and products.

To meet this challenge, the individual in this role will be highly skilled in building relationships in complex systems with a range of stakeholders – including at very senior level. The individual must also have proven track record in co-coordinating the delivery of multi-layered programmes of work.
