The Role:

This is a key senior appointment in Midlands & Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit in the IFR and Policy development unit to provide services for Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Groups and will be based in Jubilee House, Leyland, Lancashire.

The post holder will work with the IFR and Policy Development leads and other consultant colleagues to support and identify improvements to the health and wellbeing of the population and contribute to the effective processing and consideration of IFR applications in line with the established decision-making processes.

They will be responsible for driving the establishment of effective clinical criteria for inclusion in clinical commissioning policies. Liaising with CCG leads to influence as well as advocate for change effectively; informing robust decision making; and influencing effective allocation of NHS resources. The individual will work across organisation and act as a change agent to support delivery of relevant outcome indicators from the Public Health, NHS and Social Care outcome frameworks as relevant and reduce inequalities in health outcomes.

The successful candidate will support panels which majority of the time take place at Jubilee House, Leyland, occasionally the panels are arranged to take place at CCG offices around Lancashire. Also, the individual maybe required to support the Cheshire and Merseyside by attending panels located in Liverpool or Chester, the time to attend including any expenses are resourced by MLCSU.
