Educational Pharmacist

Band 8a

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Clinical Educational Pharmacist to join our Clinical Education team.

This role will be the clinical lead, responsible for providing multi-professional training / education for undergraduate students, medical staff and other healthcare professionals.

This individual will participate in the provision and development of pharmaceutical services to Warrington Hospital, Halton Hospital and for other units provided with services by the Pharmacy Department under service level agreements, to maintain clinical credibility and proficiency.

The post will be a Band 8a full time, based within the Clinical Education team but working one day a week within the Pharmacy department / clinical setting.

All posts are subject to NHS Employment Check Standards including a DBS check, if applicable. Depending on the classification of the post, in-line with DBS guidelines, a Standard or Enhanced disclosure will be required which may include a check of the ‘Vulnerable Adults List’, the ‘Children’s List’ and/or the Independent Safeguarding Authorities (ISA’s) barred lists.

A charge of £39 (Standard) or £60 (Enhanced) will be made by the successful candidate which will be deducted from the first 3 months’ salary. In addition to this, you will also be required to re-pay any future costs that may arise in relation to DBS fees.

NB. Current employees of Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust who have had a satisfactory DBS check, carried out by this Trust during the last 3 years, will not be required to undertake a new one. Where staff have not had a check (classification appropriate to the post offered) within the last 3 years, they will be required to undertake and pay for this, as per the arrangements above.


Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
