We currently have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Specialty Doctor who has experience in Child and Adolescent Mental Health to join our Hounslow CAMHS Neuro-developmental Team. You will be joining a team who are passionate about providing a positive experience of CAMH Services to children and young people who present with complex needs.

 

The primary focus of the role will be the assessment, diagnosis and support of children with neuro-developmental conditions (e.g. Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Tic disorders) and co-morbid mental health problems. Assessment for medication and monitoring of treatment plans is a particular focus. This is predominantly for treatment of ADHD but also management of comorbid mental health problems associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and assessment\management of Tic Disorders. The role also includes the use of standardised assessment tools and training in tools such ADI-r and ADOS will be provided.

 

The post holder will be part of the vibrant Hounslow medical team (comprising of 3 Consultant Psychiatrists, 2 Higher Trainees and 2 Core Trainees in Psychiatry) and the wider 3-borough CAMHS medical group. The post holder will be involved in urgent and duty work for the whole service enabling experience in other areas of child mental health, and will be offered high quality and consistent supervision from the Consultant Psychiatrist in the Neurodevelopmental Team. In addition, there are excellent opportunities for continuing professional development through the local academic programme, clinical work with other teams, development of special interests and study leave. Support will be provided for a post holder wanting to consider MRCPsych or CESR process.

 

We are looking for a doctor who is able to demonstrate a commitment to creative engagement with a culturally diverse population of young people, show initiative, be a good team player and be able to communicate ideas clearly to both professionals and young people alike. They will also need to be flexible and have the necessary skills and experience to provide high quality care that is both evidence based and client focussed. The above post is offered on a permanent full time basis. There is no out-of-hours on-call commitment.
