An exciting opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of an enthusiastic and self motivated pharmacy technician to join the Medicines Optimisation Team based in Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit working with NHS Greater Preston Clinical Commissioning Group and NHS Chorley & South Ribble Clinical Commissioning Group. These CCG’s represent 58 general practices situated across both urban and semi-rural areas.

You will be a qualified pharmacy technician with significant post registration experience in a primary care, hospital or community setting. You will be highly self-motivated, have excellent interpersonal/communication skills and possess sound clinical knowledge. You will work predominantly in practices, implementing strategies to improve the cost-effective, evidence based use of medicines across the CCG’s. You will contribute to the development of the Medicines Optimisation strategy for the CCG’s, and will be responsible for leading on agreed clinical areas within the Medicines Optimisation Team

The post is a 2 year fixed term contract and you will work alongside the existing team of Medicines Optimisation Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians. The successful candidate will be based at Chorley House in Leyland and have responsibility for supporting a number of GP practices across the CCG’s.
