Cardiology nursing

If you’re interested in cardiology nursing, Royal Papworth Hospital is a great place to be. As well as running an emergency PPCI (primary percutaneous coronary intervention) and Rapid Non STEMI service for the East of England, we are the national centre for a range of specialist services. . and we achieve excellent outcomes.. In our new hospital, five catheter labs and two hybrid theatres will be equipped with the very latest medical equipment to help our staff deliver excellent patient care. Our cardiology ward has 42 beds offering all patients a single room.

As a cardiology nurse at Royal Papworth Hospital, no two days are the same. You’ll be caring for patients undergoing procedures such as Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), as well as more specialist treatments such as electrophysiological ablations.

You’ll be helping a wide range of patients, from those arriving in an emergency via ambulance, to patients coming in for planned procedures and those being transferred to us from hospitals across the country. For some of our patients, it is their first experience of being admitted to hospital and so we are looking for compassionate, dynamic and enthusiastic nurses to care for them. You’ll play a vital role in supporting patients through their pathway, from their initial arrival in the hospital to immediately after their procedure and in the lead up to their return home.
