Midwife

Job Reference: 166-IC-1484704

Employer:
Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Department:
Maternity Services
Location:
Chesterfield Royal Hospital, Chesterfield
Salary:
£23,023 to £29,608 band 5

We are recruiting newly qualified band 5 and experienced band 6 midwives, on substantive posts.

Chesterfield Birth Centre provides co-located midwife and consultant led labour ward facilities, which include 4 birthing pools. Our maternity inpatient ward offers a calm and welcoming environment for women and their families.

We have established 4 locality bases in the community midwifery service and midwives work with GP attached caseloads from the bases or GP surgeries. This model of care enables the service to offer women increased choice for their community based care.

A number of posts are available for newly qualified midwives and experienced band 6 midwives part time and full time.

Band 5 midwives are based in the hospital service and will undertake an allocation to the community service as part of their progression to band 6. Bank 6 midwives are employed on an integrated basis, rotating between the hospital and community service as required.

A Comprehensive induction programme will be provided and band 5 midwives will receive our competency package to facilitate their progression to band 6.
