OUR TRUST VALUES

Our Trust is a great place to work and we are keen to ensure that all our employees have the right values in order that we can provide the best service to our patients. These values are very important to us, and as a potential candidate you should be made aware that we test for these throughout the whole assessment/recruitment and selection process, and will only interview and recruit individuals who demonstrate these values through their application and behaviour.

Details of our Values can be found on our website link 'Working together for outstanding care - our vision'

We have an exciting opportunity to join our friendly, highly motivated team of dental nurses. We are currently looking to recruit two registered dental nurses to work within our Community Dental Service across a number of our sites throughout Worcestershire.

As a Community Dental Service we provide comprehensive oral health care to vulnerable groups of patients caring for people of all ages within 7 locations throughout Worcestershire.  Our patients range from children to adults some with a whole variety of impairments for whom access to dental services is difficult.

As a Community Dental Service we provide care under inhalation sedation, intravenous sedation and general anesthesia (GA). You would also be involved in domiciliary care and oral health promotion.  Although experience in sedation and GA would be advantageous, the successful applicant will have the opportunity develop a range of skills working with a diverse group of patients.

The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate a caring approach to patients, be well organised, provide excellent cross infection control and be flexible in their own approach and will need to work flexibly across all sites sometimes at short notice.

You will be expected to participate in clinical audit projects within the Community Dental Services and attend regular service meetings.

You will need to be registered with the GDC and be trained and examined to National Certificate level or equivalent.  Computer skills and knowledge of a dental software package would be an advantage but full training will be given. The successful candidate must be able to meet the travel requirements of the post.

If you are an enthusiastic, motivated and conscientious, interested in caring for people and have experience as a Dental Nurse, then this might be the opportunity you have been waiting for.

For an informal discussion about the post please contact Rachel Wakley on 01905 681684 for an informal discussion.

PLEASE NOTE: All new appointments are subject to 6 months’ probation period.

If the same or similar vacancy arises within the recruitment period of this post or up to 3 months afterwards, the Trust may chose not to re advertise, but to select a suitable candidate from this interview pool. The new post may differ in terms of the base, hours available (full or part time) or contract type (permanent or fixed term) and therefore you are encouraged to apply for advertised posts but specify on your application form your preferences.

In the event of exceptionally high levels of response, we reserve the right to close the post before the date stated in order to prevent the number of applications received being unmanageable. You are advised to submit your completed application as soon as possible to have the best chance of being considered.

Applicants must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats.

**If the position being applied for requires a DBS check to be undertaken on you, it will be a condition of your employment that you have subscribed and continue to subscribe to the DBS Update Service. New employees to the Trust are required to pay the fee for the initial DBS check (this will be deducted from their first months’ salary) and the annual subscription (£13) to the DBS Update Service. Internal applicants are required to pay the annual subscription fee only (£13). Further information on the update service can be found on our website link ‘DBS Update Service.’

The Trust offers a preceptorship year for newly qualified nurses and AHP's and attendance at preceptorship programmes is a condition of employment.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.

From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement.
