SPECIALIST BIOMEDICAL SCIENTIST with ‘PATHOLOGY FIRST’

Band 6 Specialist BMS – Blood Science - Night Worker

Salary: £26,963 to £36,111 (Up to £5,000 Joining Bonus)

 

Job Summary

We have an excellent opportunity for a Specialist Biomedical Scientist in Blood Science to join our remarkable and dynamic team. This role is part of a team which provides an efficient and effective Blood Sciences service to two general hospitals (Southend University/Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals) and local GP community.

Ideally, the successful candidate should be driven, passionate with good interpersonal skills who wants to develop their career further within a supportive environment. We place great emphasis on training and support our staff through career development programmes.This an exciting time for us as we have transitioned into our state of the art laboratories that delivers 900 different tests across a multitude of disciplines.

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will be:

HCPC registered, have at least 2 years post registration experience and have a Specialist portfolio or equivalent in Blood Science. We will consider applications from people nearing the completion of specialist portfolio.

Able to work across 3 different sites in a 24-7 work environment.

Able to work with a high degree of accuracy, numeracy, interpretive skills and good problem-solving skills.

Able to demonstrate a good knowledge and experience of industry standard laboratory information management systems and computer applications including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Statistical Packages.
