An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Staff Nurse to join our existing, well established team within Ludlow Road Children’s Short Breaks Unit in Kidderminster.

 

The short breaks service currently provides overnight short breaks to children and young people age 3 to 18 years who have complex physical and learning disabilities or complex health care needs.

 

The post holder will be a qualified nurse, ideally registered as a Learning Disability Nurse or Children`s Nurse. However consideration will be given to adult trained nurses who have experience caring for adults or children with learning disabilities and/or complex health needs.

 

The post will require flexibility, motivation, and the ability to adapt to provide care that meets the wide ranging needs of the children and young people that use the service.

 

Training and support regarding specific care needs for individual children and young people within the unit will be available.

 

The post holder will be offered the opportunity to work in a supportive environment, with an enthusiastic team of staff that aim to put the children, young people and their families are at the heart of everything they do.

 

Based at the unit in Kidderminster, but will require commuting to other areas in the County to complete specific training and development.

New employees to the Trust are required to pay the fee for the initial DBS check (this will be deducted from their first months’ salary) and the annual subscription (£13) to the DBS Update Service. The Trust offers a preceptorship year for newly qualified nurses and AHP's and attendance at preceptorship programmes is a condition of employment.
