An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and creative individual, who may be looking for a chance to enhance their skills in a specialist field.

 

This is an innovative award winning service delivering new models of specialist care within WLMHT.

 

 

 

The position will be in the the Ealing Team (0.5wte) who are based at the St Bernard’s Hospital site, but may be required to work flexibly/attend meetings at the other team location in Hammersmith (Hammersmith Hospital) and Hounslow- West Middlesex University Hospital/Lakeside Mental Health Unit.

 

 

 

 

 

We are looking to fill the post to support delivery of a number of key tasks:

 

    • Being based within our multi-disciplinary team, the successful candidate will ensure that women referred to the service have specialist psychological screening and assessments to ensure their psychological needs are identified and offered appropriate treatment

 

    • You will also provide specialist advice, guidance and training to the MDT and other professionals involved in providing care for this group of women.

 

    • You will be working closely with the perinatal consultant psychiatrist and nurses, to provide a high quality clinical service and contribute to the on-going development of the service.

 

    • Communicate, develop and maintain professional relationships with other agencies including maternity, health visiting, primary care, mental health colleagues and social services.

 

    • Consolidating operational systems and processes in relation to psychological therapies across the tri-borough to establish consistent ways of working across all three teams.

 

 

 

 

 

This would be an ideal opportunity for an excellent clinician who has experience at Band 7 or 8a previously to work in a new area and to gain exposure/enhance their knowledge and skills with the support of a highly specialised team which will help the post holder to develop their own specialist skills in Perinatal Mental Health.

 

 

 

We would support the successful candidate to develop a bespoke training programme to facilitate their development within the post.

The North West London Sector:

 

Improving Perinatal Mental Health Services is identified as a key service development area by NWL STP with a clear objective setting out a commitment to improve access to, and availability of, community perinatal mental health services across all boroughs by 2020. This commenced in 2016/17 with the implementation a sector wide community perinatal mental health pathway and an 18 month pilot Tri-Borough PMHS serving the London boroughs of Ealing, Hounslow and Hammersmith & Fulham. After a successful evaluation, a business case was developed and the service now has recurrent funding.

 

 

 

The Ealing, Hounslow and Hammersmith & Fulham Perinatal Mental Health Service:

 

We are an energetic, creative and welcoming service, which aims to offer and inspire excellence in community perinatal mental health care. Whilst the service is in its infancy still, a comprehensive evaluation of the pilot and RCPsych Perinatal Quality Network peer review, demonstrated a high quality service with strong partnership working and excellent feedback from women, families and partner agencies. Currently the service sees women from pre-conception up to 12 months post-partum

 

 

 

The teams currently each have a mix of Consultant Psychiatrists, Band 8a Psychologists, Band 7 Perinatal Nurse Specialists and full time Team Administrators. The team operates 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
