An exciting opportunity has arisen at Ryegate House for a Registered Nurse to join our small, friendly team. You will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in caring for children and young people with profound complex learning disabilities and associated complex health needs in a dedicated respite environment. This role also involvescaring for patients within community settings such as schools and patient homes.

Ryegate House is a nurse led 6 bedded respite care unit based at the Ryegate Centre, which provides respite care for children & young people aged 0-19 years with profound physical and learning disabilities.

It is staffed 24 hours per day, by qualified nursing staff and trained support workers.

You will work alongside an experienced and well established team and be given a full and comprehensive induction to enable you to competently care for this group of patients.

Requirements

  • RN Child or RN Learning Disabilities
  • Ability to cordinate the working shift effectively as the only registered nurse on shift (following a training period)
  • Band 5 post qualification experience in a relevant clinical area
  • NIV/ tracheostomy experience desirable
  • Understanding of respiratory patients
  • Must have completed post registration preceptorship

If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
