Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is one of four dedicated children’s hospital trusts in the UK. We provide healthcare for children & young people from the local population in Sheffield & South Yorkshire, as well as specialised services to children & young people nationally. The Pharmacy department provides a progressive pharmacy service to the variety of patients visiting the Trust, making it a highly rewarding working environment.

 

We have an excellent opportunity within our friendly department for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Medicines Management Technician to join our team.

 

The role will involve contributing to an accurate and efficient pharmacy service within the Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust by participating in and contributing to the ward-based Medicines Management service. This will include assessment of patient’s medication histories, availability and suitability of patient’s own medicines, participation in the discharge planning process and provision of specific medication information within the clinical pharmacy team.

 

It is essential that you are registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC and desirable to have an Accredited Accuracy Checking Qualification.

 

Previous experience within a hospital environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

 

If you have excellent communication skills, are keen to develop patient focused strategies within the specialist area of Paediatric Pharmacy and are able to work well within a team or independently; then this is the job for you.

This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
