We are looking for a Speech & Language Therapy Assistant to join our Special Schools Paediatric team. These sessions are available to work alongside speech and language therapists, working with children within the special school setting.

The role involves supporting therapists, carrying out a range of interventions to support the whole school, communication environment and face to face basis. In addition, the role requires the successful candidate to liaise with and deliver training to parents and other professionals. The successful candidate will have experience of working with children with complex needs and demonstrate skills to interact with children with limited language and communication skills. Experience of producing a range of visual support strategies is essential. The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate well developed collaborative working practice as well as the ability to work flexibly and independently.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£49). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
