An opportunity has arisen to become part of our Therapeutic Apheresis Services (TAS) team. TAS provides life-saving and life-enhancing therapeutic apheresis treatments to patients (both adults and children) with a wide range of blood disorders.

The TAS function provides over 9,000 apheresis treatments per year to NHS patients from eight teams based within NHS Trusts:

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust

University Hospital Bristol NHS Foundation Trust

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust

Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust

Great Ormond Street Hospital

Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust

In this role, you’ll provide comprehensive administrative support to the crucial work of our TAS function and Senior Management Team. Your responsibilities will involve providing secretarial support for national functional meetings, booking travel and accommodation for members of the Senior Management Team, providing administrative project support, supporting national educational events and managing telephone calls and enquiries as required. An important aspect of this role will include facilitating good communications between service users, team members and internal departments.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive individual who has a systematic and organised approach to their work. You should also bring to this role a good standard of education and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint. A talent for communicating both verbally and in writing is essential. Occasional travel to other NHSBT locations will be required (with prior notice).
