Developing and managing a range of projects, you will play a key role in the life-changing mission of a unique organisation. At NHS Blood and Transplant we are dedicated to saving and improving lives. We look after blood donation services in England and transplant services across the UK.

 

As Lead Specialist, you will be a vital member of the Process Improvement Team within our Customer Services function. The Team is tasked with leading and supporting process improvements which support the delivery of services to NHS customers. We will look to you to develop and manage projects nationally.

 

Your projects will support the development of customer services or partnerships, and will span a wide range of products and services - from blood components, to diagnostic and therapeutic services, to patient blood management. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining and developing customer facing systems in particular the NHSBT Stock Management System.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to build a meaningful professional legacy, with scope to lead major initiatives, improvements and innovations around important issues as diverse as supply chain and transfusion care. Along the way, you will influence a variety of directorates and external colleagues, giving them confidence in every project.

 

A HCPC registered biomedical scientist with highly specialist knowledge of transfusion/transplant, you are also qualified in people management. Naturally, we will expect you to have experience of working on projects, plus a good understanding of the principles of project management.

 

A flair for communication and relationship building is crucial. You’ll bring to the role a proven ability to communicate complex information persuasively, and to engage with others to influence change and solve problems collaboratively. Along with an audacious and innovative approach to new ideas, you demonstrate a logical and scientific approach to understanding complex issues.
