Right now, we are seeking an ophthalmologist with experience in genetic eye conditions to join our pioneering Genetic ophthalmology team.

 

We have a 0.5 time substantive post for a strong clinician who is passionate about the quality of care they provide. You will demonstrate the enthusiasm and drive it takes to make change happen. As well as benefitting from excellent facilities, you will enjoy the opportunity to explore specialist interests, develop areas of our services and achieve world-leading results. The post will be based on the St Mary’s Hospital / Manchester Royal Eye hospital site.

 

You will join a team of ophthalmologists, genetic counsellors and laboratory scientists to deliver a diagnostic, genetic counselling and management service to adult patients with genetic eye disease. You will support a multidisciplinary eye genetic MDT meeting

 

To join us, you will need to either be entered on the GMC Specialist Register or be eligible for CCT or equivalent within six months. Skills in supervising trainees, teaching junior medical staff, leading a team and communicating with multidisciplinary colleagues are vital.
