Exciting times

At Chesterfield Royal Hospital it’s an exciting time for our

medicine and emergency care division. We’re investing in its

services, with a full portfolio designed to provide the best

possible care for our patients and our communities.

In the last two years multi-million pound building schemes

have already changed the face of cancer care and

endoscopy - and we’re now embarking on a project set to

extend and improve our Emergency Department and its

associated critical services. With support from Derbyshire’s

health and care partners it’s the next step in a long-term

commitment to develop urgent care, integrate primary care

and to only admit patients to hospital when it’s absolutely

necessary. Not to be left behind, our medical out-patient

departments are also undergoing something of a makeover,

to make sure patients coming for appointments have a

warm welcome and improved experience.

Growing our team

With this level of development - and our determination

to meet high-standards and the demands of a seven day

service - we’re growing our medical team with these

Consultant posts. We’re looking for colleagues who will

join us in championing and leading changes that will make

a real difference to patient care, our hospital’s services and

our workplace.

On the Peak District’s doorstep

You’ll work out of a modern hospital that’s situated on a

greenfield site, which has benefitted from more than

£120 million of investment over the last ten years.

Providing care to more than 400,000 people across North

Derbyshire, you’ll be working on the doorstep to the Peak

District. The famed national park, with its steep limestone

valleys, grit stone ridges and stark moorlands, offers a

host of beautiful towns and villages to live in - alongside

a fantastic array of pastimes from cycling to climbing;

rambling and rafting.
