Nottingham Cytogenetics Laboratory

Vacancy for a Full time MTO (Band 4) - temporary post for 1 year, maternity leave cover.

The post is funded for 37.5 hours per week (1.0wte)

The Cytogenetics department has a vacancy for an MTO (band 4) for 1 year. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in an NHS laboratory environment. Experience of using laboratory computer systems and of handling pathological samples would be an advantage. Knowledge of and/or interest in genetics would also be an advantage. The post holder will be expected to work the core hours of 9.00-17.30 Monday to Friday.

 

The Nottingham Cytogenetics Laboratory is a UKAS accredited laboratory which provides a regional constitutional (including array-CGH) and malignancy service for a population in the region of 2.6million. We are based in a purpose built Genetics Centre shared with the Molecular Genetics and Clinical Genetics Services. The laboratory is based within the Nottingham University Hospitals trust at the City Hospital Campus.

I understand this is an automated process and the information will only be used for these purposes prior to me taking up the position at NUH.
    • Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incurs a cost dependent on the level of check required (£45 for enhanced and £28 for standard). I agree to reimburse NUH NHS Trust the cost of a DBS check if it is required (by deduction from first month’s pay). Should I decide to withdraw from my job offer, I agree to reimburse NUH NHS Trust the cost of the DBS check undertaken by cheque or other agreed method.
