We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and suitably qualified HCPC Registered clinical / counselling / forensic psychologist to work in an 8b Principal Clinical Psychologist role in a specialist learning disability community service called the Intensive Support Team.

The post holder will work with individuals with learning disability who are at risk of admission to hospital settings as part of the established Intensive Support Team (IST). The post holder will play a pivotal role in the successful application of Positive Behavioural Support principles and tailor functional assessment work to sustainable improvements in quality of life in the community.

The post holder will act as Clinical Lead within the team and hold management responsibilities in terms of line management and team development. There is support from Assistant Psychologists. The IST also has a Behaviour Specialist with expertise in behavioural approaches.

This would particularly suit a Practitioner Psychologist who has special interests related to the learning disability field in particular complex presentations and transferable skills for working with challenging behaviour.
