Funded by NHS England, The Office for Life Sciences and NHS Improvement, the West of England Academic Health Science Network exists to accelerate the spread of innovative, evidence-based practice to improve health and care in the West of England. We work with all five acute Trusts, five Clinical Commissioning Groups, five community providers, two mental health Trusts and three universities in the West of England. We also work closely with local businesses, small and medium enterprises, Local Enterprise Partnerships and a range of other academic partners to facilitate the adoption and spread of innovation into health and social care.

We are committed to improving outcomes for patients through improving access to research, applying evidence and ensuring consistency of clinical practice. We run projects working at scale to spread evidence-based quality improvements across the region.

Our highly collaborative network accelerates the scale and pace of delivering consistent good practice across our communities. This work is underpinned by high levels of collaboration with industry to ensure that we are innovative, enhance patient outcomes and drive up wealth in our local economy.

We host the Patient Safety Collaborative for the West of England and manage a wide improvement agenda working across all health care sectors. Our aim is to reduce incidents of harm and improve quality. We are committed to supporting and building the quality improvement capability and capacity of our local organisations.

ABOUT THE TEAM

An exceptional opportunity for a pro-active and highly organised Personal Assistant to join the West of England Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) based in Bristol. The West of England AHSN is part of a vibrant network which strives to put innovation at the heart of healthcare, to benefit patients, save the NHS time and money, and help to grow the local health economy. You will be part of a diverse and friendly team, delivering cutting edge work and with our NHS partners across Bristol, Bath, North Somerset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This is a unique position to continue a career as personal assistant and dive into the health world in a growing dynamic organisation with award winning teams at the heart of innovation in the NHS, A remarkable opportunity to be central to the organisation’s success and contribute to its culture and mission. The role is busy, varied and important, working closely with the Directors to make sure their diaries support their strategic priorities. Key responsibilities include complex diary management to ensure effective use of their time, preparation of presentations, providing briefing papers and ensuring Directors are well prepared for meetings and meeting support. Ultimately, you enable the directors to optimize their time and follow-through on commitment internally and externally.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

This is an agile working opportunity in the centre of Bristol which includes the options of remote / office based /flexible working. We are looking for someone with experience at providing Personal Assistant support to senior management and senior stakeholders. We would also be willing to consider applications from those interested in a job share.

You will need to have the ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and sensitivity, with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. The role is ideal for a highly organised flexible, experienced Assistant used to working on their own initiative, comfortable with multi-tasking and equipped with excellent working knowledge of Office 365.

If you’ve been a PA before that would be helpful, but transferable skills and experience will be considered as full training can be given.
