We aim to provide our patients with the best experience across our Cancer Clinical areas.

We are currently developing our cancer services at Imperial, and are looking for a number of Band 5 nurses who would be interested in developing their career in this specialist setting.

The Cancers we specialise in include; gastrointestinal (upper and lower), breast, hepato-pancreatico-biliary, endocrine, gynaecological, lung, brain tumours and urological malignancies. Services provided include radiotherapy, chemotherapy, radioactive isotopes, symptom control and palliative care.

6 North at Charing Cross is a 26 bedded ward which cares for patients with complex symptoms of their cancers, patients receiving radioactive isotopes and palliative care patients. Informal visits welcome.

As a band 5 nurse, you will work as part of a progressive nursing team lead by one of our Sister/Charge Nurses working alongside Consultants and the other members of the MDT to develop an integrated service. You will be offered the opportunity to undertake a bachelor’s degree or masters program relevant to your clinical specialty. We have a number of other areas you might be interested in for the future; these include chemotherapy, the cancer assessment Unit, research, palliative and other clinical nurse specialist roles.

Please be advised, you should be enthusiastic, hardworking, kind and compassionate, any experience within a cancer setting is always welcome. Your application form will not be considered if you do not meet these criteria. Excellent communication and customer care skills are essential.
