Are you an Occupational Therapist looking for a new challenge? Livewell Southwest, one of the most exciting organisations in Health & Social Care, is seeking an enthusiastic advanced practitioner to join our brand new multi-disciplinary recovery service within the community.

We are seeking a registered Occupational Therapist who possesses recent clinical experience in a community or relevant mental health inpatient setting.

The new recovery service is being driven by the Community Mental Health Framework and we are looking for an experienced OT to join the newly formed team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in leading and developing new models of care. We are looking for a practitioner with the skills to manage the OTs’ within the team and lead our support staff in particular. The successful candidate will work to transform the delivery of OT programs and wider recovery within the community. You will have line management responsibilities as agreed with the Team Manager.

You will have a reduced caseload where possible to facilitate change implementation. People open to the newly formed service will experience severe and enduring mental illness and historically struggle to engage with other services. We are looking for someone who can drive the team towards supporting people in the best way possible and overcome some of the challenges associated with this.

The successful candidate will support the manager in forming the team, building an excellent team culture and helping to develop resilience within the team. As a senior member of the team, you will be part of the management structure, therefore will have responsibilities to lead, working collaboratively with the Team Manager, Practice Lead, psychology and doctors.

You will work proactively to reduce gaps in service provision, ensuring that people are at the centre of service delivery.

The successful candidate will need to evidence proactive working practices, will be excellent at time management and prioritising clinical and managerial demands.

The successful candidate will deliver programmes of care for a defined caseload of people with complex mental health and/or social care needs.

The Government has formally announced that it intends to introduce regulations that will require most healthcare workers which includes frontline workers to be fully vaccinated (1st and 2nd dose) against COVID-19 by 1st April 2022. To achieve this the successful applicant must have had their 1st COVID -19 vaccination by 3rd February 2022 to allow for a 2nd dose to be made before 1st April 2022. Therefore, full COVID-19 vaccination will be a condition of employment unless an individual is medically exempt. We will ask for proof of vaccination or exemption during the recruitment process.
