Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK’s leading heart and lung hospital, treating around 50,000 patients each year. We are located in a new, purpose-built hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, with administrative services based in Huntingdon.

Founded as a tuberculosis colony in 1918, Royal Papworth Hospital has established an international reputation for excellence in research and innovation. Since carrying out the UK’s first successful heart transplant in 1979, the hospital now performs more heart, heart-lung and lung transplants each year than any other UK centre.

In addition to transplantation, Royal Papworth Hospital has the UK’s largest Respiratory Support and Sleep Centre (RSSC) and is one of five UK centres providing Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) to patients experiencing severe respiratory failure. It is also the only centre in the UK for a number of specialist services including Pulmonary Endarterectomy and Balloon Pulmonary Angioplasty (BPA).

In October 2019, we became the first trust to be rated ‘outstanding’ in all five areas assessed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) (safe, caring, effective, responsive, and well-led). We are committed to providing a positive, supportive experience for all of our staff.

1 year fixed term contract
Full time - 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK's largest specialist Cardiothoracic Hospital and the main Heart and Lung Transplant Centre. We have an extraordinary commitment to delivering the highest levels of clinical quality and safety outcomes and for providing the best possible standards of personalised care to our patients.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) in October 2019 announced that the hospital was ‘outstanding’ overall across all five of the CQC domains: safe, caring, effective, responsive and well-led. This was the first time a NHS Hospital Trust has achieved an outstanding rating across all five key questions.

Two exciting opportunities have arisen to join our CPAP practitioner team to work in the CPAP device exchange clinic. This will be predominately based at Royal Papworth Hospital in the Outpatients Department with the potential to travel independently across several locations in the East Anglian region.

We are looking for individuals who will uphold the Trust values of Compassion, Excellence and Collaboration, who are able to demonstrate commitment to teamwork, dedication, and the ability to show compassion, care and respect to our patients’ visitors and colleagues.

The Trust is committed to bringing the best out of its employees and such opportunities as part of our ongoing staff development programme will support individual career aspirations and progression. Full training will be provided.

Royal Papworth Hospital is proud to employ a diverse workforce who are encouraged to use their individuality to provide exceptional and personalised patient care. We believe that our strength as an organisation relies on our ability to foster an environment which encourages using our differences as a strength.
