The Neighbourhood Night Service is a forward thinking, dynamic team that is continuously looking to improve and develop as the demand for the service we deliver changes. We are seeking to appoint a Community Staff Nurse to work as part of our nursing team to ensure that we deliver outstanding patient care.

The Neighbourhood Night Service operates overnight across the whole of Leeds providing care for patients requiring nursing intervention in their own home. The service operates centrally from Killingbeck Court, Leeds LS14 6FD. One of the key aims of the service is to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and to ensure that palliative patients remain in their own homes, where this is their preference. We are also involved in supporting the development of the Virtual Ward (Frailty) within the Neighbourhood teams. The Neighbourhood Night Service is part of a wider multi-disciplinary team and ensures that there is 24/7 nursing care for patients in the community.

This is an exciting and varied role that incorporates many different aspects of patient care delivered to a wide range of patients. Your role is working alongside our community nursing assistants responding to intervention call outs overnight from patients across the city of Leeds, you may also visit patients overnight for a planned intervention. Your hours of work will be 20.45pm-07.15pm, it would be expected that you are available to work on a rota over 7 nights per week, 365 days per year.
The contract is up to 35hrs

A full tailored induction programme will be supported and ongoing development encouraged.

There is a statutory requirement for staff in this role to provide nursing or personal care within Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulated care homes.

Therefore, in line with new government regulations which come into force on 11 November 2021, anyone employed in this role will need to evidence they have had two doses of a Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) approved COVID-19 vaccine, or that they come within a specified exemption. Evidence of vaccination status should be provided via the NHS app, the NHS COVID pass via the NHS website, or an NHS letter as part of pre employment checks.
