Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK’s leading heart and lung hospital, treating around 50,000 patients each year. We are located in a new, purpose-built hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, with administrative services based in Huntingdon.

Founded as a tuberculosis colony in 1918, Royal Papworth Hospital has established an international reputation for excellence in research and innovation. Since carrying out the UK’s first successful heart transplant in 1979, the hospital now performs more heart, heart-lung and lung transplants each year than any other UK centre.

In addition to transplantation, Royal Papworth Hospital has the UK’s largest Respiratory Support and Sleep Centre (RSSC) and is one of five UK centres providing Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) to patients experiencing severe respiratory failure. It is also the only centre in the UK for a number of specialist services including Pulmonary Endarterectomy and Balloon Pulmonary Angioplasty (BPA).

Hours: 37.5 Hours/Week

This is an exciting time for all staff at Royal Papworth Hospital. Would you like to be part of our busy and forward thinking Clinical Administration Division? Are you hard working and organised, friendly and efficient, an effective communicator and an inspiring manager with an eye for strategic detail and engaging your team to deliver against KPIs? Are you passionate about the secretarial & administration service that we strive to deliver for our clinical teams within the clinical divisions? Do you have the vision to move this service forward with new ideas and an ability to lead on projects?

Opportunities at this level do not come around often and the post will be based in our Administration Hub in Huntingdon with a requirement to work in the Hospital in Cambridge on a pre-agreed day each week. The post will work alongside another Service Manager in the division.

This role is fundamental to ensure the patient experience is always positive whilst also ensuring team members are supported, engaged and inspired to get it right first time.

This is a great opportunity to work in a role where you can make a real difference to the delivery of patient care whilst working within a supportive team with training provided to meet the demands of the role.
