As an employee, you are accountable to ensure that you know to how to respond when you are concerned for the safety of a child, young person or adult at risk, applying the principles of the Family Approach to ensure evidence based analysis, risk management and appropriate action and escalation. SHFT require staff to work effectively together using the Family Approach to achieve better outcomes for adults, children and families. The Trust will support you in this duty by providing ongoing training, support and advice and have a Corporate Safeguarding Team who can be contacted for guidance and the provision of safeguarding supervision.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic, motivated and progressive service manager to work as part of a team to provide leadership and operational management to the SHFT diabetes team. This post would ideally suit a clinician, although a non-clinician would be considered based on qualifications and experience.


The post holder will provide leadership and operational management of this award-winning service with a national profile, providing a range of services in a community setting in the South-West and North Hampshire geographies, working closely with health professionals throughout primary, secondary and community care systems.


This is a leadership role and the successful candidate will promote a culture of innovation, involvement and quality improvement an in in collaboration with the senior managers ensure effective performance, high quality governance, workforce planning, and on-going business development.


The successful candidate will also be required to work closely with corporate support services including business support, finance, contracting, HR and comms and have good interpersonal skills to communicate and work with numerous stakeholders internally and externally.


The candidate would need to be flexible and be able to support the diabetes services across Hampshire and a being a car driver is essential.

A DBS check is required by the Employer for this post. The Employer will undertake an initial check at the appropriate level on appointment. As a condition of employment you are required to register with the online DBS update service and maintain this registration throughout employment.

Frontline Healthcare workers (who have face-to-face contact with service users) in England will be required to ensure they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, from 1 April 2022 . To work as a frontline healthcare worker from 1 April 2022 it will be a condition of employment to be fully vaccinated. This requirement will also apply to those in ancillary support roles such as porters or receptionists who may have social contact with patients but are not directly involved in their care.

To be fully vaccinated you must receive both doses of a Covid-19 vaccination. Successful applicants will be required (unless exempt*) to provide evidence of their covid vaccination status (NHS COVID Pass) or evidence that they have commenced their journey to becoming fully vaccinated. If the required evidence cannot be provided then any offer of employment may be withdrawn.
