Job Title: PCN NMP development post

Band: 6

Location: Basingstoke or Alton PCN

This role supports our work within the primary care mental health offer. The post holder will be attached to a CMHT but will operate within the PCN MDT offering triage and follow up appointments as needed to patients in the PCN with a mental health need. It offers the opportunity to train to become a non-medical prescriber. On completion and provision of evidence of pass then this post will become a band 7 post.

You will be a registered practitioner experienced in mental health and be able to work autonomously within primary care but equally able to work as part of the team to ensure patient needs are identified and met.

Our Trust vision is to deliver world class treatment and care, together with our service uses, their families and our partners in health and care. We have established an ambitious programme of transformation to support the improvements we need to make and create a needs based, holistic approach to physical and mental wellbeing, treatment and recovery for our patients and resilience support for carers and families.

We believe our staff are our most valuable asset; and excellent, well trained and motivated staff will help us deliver this transformation, creating a culture of compassion, collaboration and continuous improvement.  We have our own unique, internal Academy of Excellence supporting registered staff to gain support throughout their careers to realise their aspirations as well as links to local universities to support further education and development.  We support staff in clinical practice in many ways, and this includes having a team of Practice Educators to support and guide staff as they work alongside them.  We are also increasingly looking to enable staff to move seamlessly into roles that best meet their needs at that time, both within the service and across the division as well as within the local healthcare system.  We are one of only a few NHS Trusts in the country to offer fully funded leadership and management qualifications to staff.
