An exciting opportunity has arisen for Trust Doctors at FY3 Level post to work in Research and Innovation to support the urgent restart of paused research activity due to Covid-19 pandemic. This is a fixed term post for 5 months.

University Hospitals of Leicester has up to 1000 clinical trials open at any given time. During the Covid-19 pandemic more patients with Covid-19 were recruited into Covid-19 studies at University Hospitals of Leicester than at any other Trust in England. Clinical research takes place in all specialties but areas with particularly high activity are cancer, cardiology, diabetes, infectious diseases, musculoskeletal diseases, respiratory diseases and renal diseases.

These posts will support the delivery of clinical trials across several research active on all three acute sites of the Trust.

Successful applicants will be appointed to the Research and Innovation but will subsequently work embedded in the research delivery teams of clinical specialties where their presence can make an immediate impact on trial delivery. This may require some flexibility and cross-site working.

The posts are unique and will provide immediate experience of research and clinical trials in a large, acute University Hospital Trust.

There will be no clinical service or on call commitments for these posts.
