Bolton NHS Foundation Trust was formed in 2008 and, in 2011, we became an integrated provider with community health services joining the trust. Covering a catchment area that also incorporates parts of Bury, Wigan and Salford, we deliver hospital and community based services from the Royal Bolton Hospital in Farnworth and from 20 health centres across Bolton, to a catchment population of 320,000 people. We have a CQC rating as good overall and we have some key areas of outstanding practice with an outstanding rating for being well led at every level.

Due to the continued success of our theatre time management, we are looking to recruit a dynamic, forward thinking, team approached, experienced band 5 practitioners into a Scrub Practitioner role. Full Time post, part time may be considered. Previous scrub experience is essential.

The Royal Bolton Hospital is a friendly, team orientated and supportive trust, that is easily accessible from the M61 and has good public transport links.

We are currently recruiting qualified operating department practitioners and nurses to work in our busy theatre department which covers a wide range of specialities including general surgery, trauma and elective orthopaedics, oncoplastics, breast, gynaecology, obstetrics, ENT and oral maxillofacial surgery.

Our scrub teams have the opportunity to learn new skills and procedures, in a supportive, professional, safety orientated environment.

In return for your commitment, enthusiasm and dedication we will provide you with the technical skills and provide one to one support from our dedicated Practice Education team. Regular skills training is provided around our audit time, alongside the opportunity to gain a mentorship qualification, to support our student nurses and ODPs in their learning. An annual appraisal will enable you to direct your own learning and professional interests.

You must be highly motivated, with a forward thinking attitude, and will join an innovative and pro-active team. Using evidence based practice, you will provide safe, individual care to patients, to excellent standards. You will be a registered nurse with current NMC registration, a qualified Operating Department Practitioner with HCPC registration, a Student Nurse or Student ODP.

The post-holder will be expected to be flexible to respond to change and organisational needs. There is a requirement to work flexible hours over the 24 hour day, including weekends and on call rota.
