Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) provides a range of community health, mental health and learning disability services for people of all ages. Delivered through over 100 settings from inpatient wards to out in the community, our 6,500 staff serves over 1m people living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.


We are looking for qualified nurses who also hold the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN)- School Nursing Qualification and are on part 3 of the NMC register. (This post is suitable for those nurses about to complete the SCPHN programme).


Exciting opportunities have arisen to join Healthy Together 5-19 teams, working within Public Health Nursing to deliver the 5-19 Healthy Child Programme. We are pleased to offer posts across Leicester city, Leicestershire and Rutland with our core working hours being Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm we have 4 day and 5 day posts available.


We would love to meet you if you are an enthusiastic and self-motivated practitioner who has experience of working with children, young people and families. We are a 0-19 service which works with children, young people and their families to deliver care close to where they live their lives – at home, in Children’s Centres, school and GP practices.


As a Public Health Nurse School Nurse you would be leading a team of healthy child programme nurses and practitioners to deliver the healthy child programme in line with our standard operating guidance.


Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland school nurses are an innovative team and always looking at different ways of working to meet the ever changing needs of the school aged population and their families; this has included the introduction of a new model of working with the team working in a public health or safeguarding team with a regular rotation between teams.


Healthy Together has a well-developed digital offer including the award-winning ‘Chat Health’ text messaging services which are available to both parents, as well as to young people of secondary school age. We use SystmOne as our Electronic Patient Record and we are continually developing this to capture the great work our teams do.


Our teams are full of committed and skilled people who want to deliver the best possible care for children and their families. Healthy Together offers a range of services to meet the varying needs of the local population.


You will be fully supported on starting in post through either an induction and healthy together new starter programme alongside either a competency framework, newly qualified SCPHN -SNs will have a preceptorship packaged in place.


You will need a full UK driving license and use of a car for this role.


All posts are subject to a 6 month probationary period.

For areas where our teams work to staffing rosters, these are set in advance at a team level and you will join an established roster. Your rostered shifts will be confirmed to you when arranging your start date.
